How to install OSX 10.5 Leopard to iBook G4

Since iBook G4 doesn't have DVD-ROM, it is hard to install OSX 10.5 Leopard. OSX 10.5 Leopard is released in dual layer DVD. So, in order to install Leopard, it needs to boot another device, not DVD. In this guide, OSX 10.5 was restored into one partition of HDD, then it was installed.

I'm not sure if iBook G4 offers USB device boot. But, if it is possible, it will be easier.

Step 1. Install OSX 10.3 panther with two partition. One is for OSX, and the other is for Leopard image.

Step 2. Restore Leopard image into the second partition.

Step 3. Reboot.

Step 4. Hold 'alt' or 'option' key.

Step 5. Boot with OSX 10.5 Leopard image.

Step 6. Install OSX 10.5 Leopard image.

Enjoy OSX 10.5 in your iBook G4!
